After ordination to the priesthood in 1969, Fr. Bryant served eleven years in parish ministry as an associate pastor and later as a pastor. In 1980, he started ministry at the DC Detention Facility as a chaplain. Retirement with DOC took effect in 2001 but Fr. Bryant continued to serve in an unofficial capacity until March of 2005 when two full-time chaplains were hired. Since then he has continued to serve as a volunteer Catholic Chaplain. In 2005 he began developing the Welcome Home program with the help of a number of very dedicated and knowledgeable people in the Archdiocese and in government.
John M. Facciola is a United States Magistrate Judge in the District Court for the District of Columbia. He is a former president of the John Carroll Society and now chairs its Social Justice Committee. The Archdiocese of Washington has awarded him the Caritas Award for his service to Catholic Charities.
