Local jurisdictions reach out with financial support strengthening the public private partnership

Prison Outreach Ministry, Inc. (POM), as part of its strategic plan, has established a presence in Washington, DC, Prince George's and Montgomery counties in Maryland. Although the mission is the same, to welcome home those released from prison and to help them integrate successfully back into society, this happens in very special ways in each jurisdiction. In 2008, POM enjoyed strong local government support throughout all three jurisdictions. This support is manifested through funding and gifts-in-kind such as office space. In addition to this in-kind support, POM received $50,000 in funding from the Montgomery County Council, $25,000 in funding from Prince George's County Executive's office, as well as funds from county council members, and $54,000 for each of two years from the Justice Grants Administration of the District of Columbia

The Archdiocese continues to support Prison Outreach Ministry

The Archdiocese of Washington, DC has been a long-term supporter of Prison Outreach Ministry's (POM) Welcome Home Reentry Program. This year the Archdiocese made a $60,000 grant from Forward in Faith to POM for the Welcome Home Reentry Program. The Archdiocese has been generous with its support as its personnel have offered their expertise on committees or on an ad hoc basis.
